The project indoor develops and examines new approaches and concepts for future indoor infrastructures and architectures for location-based services.
In the past a lot of research has been done in the field of indoor positioning systems and based on them several application fields like e.g. navigation on mobile devices or tracking of mobile targets have been identified. indoor aims at the development of generic concepts and interfaces that can be utilized by future indoor location-based services. Such concepts include e.g. the provision of location data from arbitrary indoor positioning systems, the integration of floor and building plans, as well as proactive functions for triggering location-based events.
